An effective summary, but it doesn't sound like you wrote it. "[T]he beast, which they are all frightened off, is not a creature lurking in the jungle, but a primordial, evil buried in everyone’s sub-conscious.

The fact that Ralph wouldn't capture and and contain another human being is what makes him Ralph.

Titles of novels are underlined or italicized, not placed in quotation marks.

Actually, I think that Piggy is the wisest. He tells Ralph what to do.

I am thinking that this is a descriptive piece about life in the ghetto that may not lend itself to the theme assignment. Still, check out the Oct. 12th link, and let's see what you can come up with.

I am still concerned that you have not included a bibliography. I will not grade this paper until I know your source(s) of information.

I see what you mean about my first comment being vague, Alex. :-)

I can tell that you have been using other sources for your information. Remember, if you do this, you need to include a bibliography. You also need to use quotation marks to show me where you have taken words directly from the source. Without these two things, you are plagarizing and that is bad. :-(

Your organization needs a little work. You need a strong conclusion, perhaps expressing support for this "sport".

In your own words, you could tell me: Who is involved? What kind of training is required? What kind of prizes are there?

I hope this is less vague, and helpful.

Try and focus on 2 or 3 points, like one is how the UFC is really violent. Then maybe put the second point as what type of person you have to be to win the championship or something (like you have to be determined/dedicated, and be very athletic)

The assignment for "Identities" was to write part of the story from a different character's point of view. You should write and submit this assignment. Let me know when it is ready for me to read.

Alex, I agree with what you have said about the "man vs. self" and "man vs. man" conflicts. I would also add a "man vs. society" conflict. The society described in the short story seems to idolize "new" and reject "old" people and things. Sadly, I believe our own society too often responds the same way. What do you think?
